Amazing Baby Listening Party

Last night I went to a listening party for Amazing Baby's new album (which I think hits the shelves in June). We all crammed into the back room at Local 138 and opened our ears. The album sounded awesome!!!

My head looks flat and gigantic in this photo, but I am okay with that because everyone else looks very cute.

Craft Sunday :: Dioramas

On Sunday I hosted another Craft Sunday at my apartment. The theme was Dioramas.

Everyone was supposed to read a book and then come prepared to create a diorama based on their book. This theme was loose - I also allowed free form dioramas. I was very proud of all my little crafters - they all gave 110% and everyone left with awesome projects.

Awwww. Now that's creepy.

Lauren is caught reading - get back to your collage!

Finishing touches.

The Beach by Alex Garland. Diorama by Colleen K.

"Woodland Creatures" diorama by Lauren E.

"In This Economy" diorama by Meredith B.

Watership Down by by Richard Adams. Diorama by Chelsea A.

"Mountain Sunrise" diorama by Preeya J.

A Taste of Nawlins Here in Bushwick

Friday night was Mardi Gras here in Brooklyn. Tim and Sam's parents sent up from New Orleans all the supplies needed to celebrate Nawlins style.

Tim counts out the slices of King Cake to make sure no one is left out.

Chelsea got the baby in her slice of the King Cake. I called her an unfit mother because she kept biting its head, we had a little fist fight, threw the baby and lost it under the futon, and in the end she regained full custody.

Food, Dogs, Friends & Family

Last weekend Abe and I went up to Shrewsbury for some family time. My sister was home for the first time since last June so everyone was very excited. We didn't do too much except eat (an entire box of chocolate from Herbert's Candy Mansion), play Wii, and play with the dogs.

Saturday night, we went over Allyson's parent's house for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner. Just me, Abe, Allyson, Mike, Riley, and a 30 pack of Busch Light. Allyson made an amazzzzzzzzzzzing macaroni & cheese that we devoured in a matter of minutes.

Allyson and her two manly men.

We ate dinner while watching some basketball thing. All three of these people know better than anyone that I hate basketball so I think they really enjoyed making me suffer.

For Sunday dinner I made my famous Pea & Prosciutto Risotto. I made my mom risotto with baby bella mushrooms and asparagus. (I say that like we always have Sunday Dinner - we are very sophisticated - little do you know we ate this dinner in front of the TV watching "A Very Brady Sequel").

Sunday night, Richard & Bonnie came over with Meg and Stewart to hang out and drinks some drinks. We sat around the table while the "sharks" circled under the table and around our feet. Look at poor Phoebe's under bite. We really sent Jaime to vet school so she could give Phoebe braces.

Stew is very portable.

Suckers on This!

Last Saturday we all headed out to Crash Mansion (aka The Peach Pit Afterdark) to see Suckers play. Suckers is the band Kenny co-manages and they are on their way to making it big. This was my first time seeing them, but won't be my last. I usually have a very low tolerance for live music (I don't like standing, so sue me) unless the band is entertaining on stage. Suckers is super duper fun to watch AND their music is pleasing to the ears.

We took the G to the L to the walking down to Bowery & Spring. This is the new favorite piece of "artwork" on the Greenpoint platform.

This just drives me insane:

The music was really, really loud at Crash Mansion. Abe communicated to Piper a la Stephen Hawkings.

Kenny and Colleen are moving in together. Adorbs.

Afterwards we went to a birthday party upstairs in the VIP room for Christina Lee. It was all white and very weird in that room... and Amstel Lights were $8. I have a feeling it is very dirty in daylight.

Lindsey, Lauren and Colleen being sassy VIPs

Ari and Jess enjoying the white furniture...and good times.
