Fiore

I'm a sucker for new restaurants in my neighborhood - I truly feel like we have some of the best "regular person priced" restaurants in the city. Last night Abe and I went out to eat at a new restaurant in Williamsburg called Fiore. Oh my god, if you live around here you have to try it. The prices are super affordable, the dishes are so delicious - we had the best fried calamari of our lives, and the staff and ambiance make you feel like you're in a really fancy restaurant.

Night of Music

Last night was my first BCCO concert. It was held at Plymouth Church in Brooklyn Heights. The church itself is pretty amazing. It was part of the Underground Railroad, and Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. all spent time at the church. You can click here to read about some of the history.

The concert was wonderful. A huge group of my friends and co-workers came for the event and made the night extra special for me. The highlights of the night were Steve Solook on the marimba and our last piece "An American in Paris" by George Gershwin.

Afterwards we went to the bar Floyd in Carroll Gardens. When we were leaving Abe looked over and saw Zefrank standing in front of the bar next door. This was pretty much the ultimate "celebrity" sighting Abe could have asked for. He went over and talked to him for a while and then pulled me over to meet him too. It was pretty fun - Abe couldn't have been more excited.

Me looking very chipper and ready for the concert to start.

Just making a quick call.

All the beautiful congratulatory flowers given to me by my mom and friends.

Cereal Killers

This is a new piece of graffiti here in Williamsburg. I think it was on Berry and maybe N. 13th. The colors were so awesome it just felt good to look at, but on top of that the content is so clever. It's pretty cool someone can do this with spray paint on a wall.

Sister Sister

My little sister came to visit this weekend. The last time she was here was over a year ago and she got the stomach flu and barfed for three days. Since she's in her last year of veterinary school she doesn't get much time off and I only get to see her when I go home to Shrewsbury. And after her graduation in June from Tufts she is moving to Minnesota for her internship. Home of Brandon and Brenda Walsh! As excited as I am to road trip it out to Minneapolis, I am going to miss having my sissy just a 3 hour drive away. So we had a solid weekend of hang time, which involved watching about 24 hours of Beverly Hills 90210, a trip to MOMA where we saw Mickey from Seinfeld, and one wild night out in Williamsburg - oh and a lipstick party - Sam brought Chelsea a ton of Mary Kay lipsticks from an event he was working at and we went to town later that night at the bars.

Jaime is a cat whisperer. Paws bonded with her right away.
