Craft: Sassy Apron Swap

I just mailed out my apron for the Sassy Apron Swap. It came out pretty cute. I used a vintage tablecloth for the body of the apron and lined it with turquoise terry cloth. Grosgrain ribbon was used for the waist and neck ties. There are two pockets on the front.

Magic Enchanted Candle Thing

I just finished my most recent ceramics project. It is one of those things that melts wax tarts. You put a little tea light inside and a scented wax tart up on the top. The tea light melts the tart and your room fills with the scent.

My version is a little hobbit house that belongs in an enchanted forest. I wish I had a little magic mouse to live inside there and keep the tea light fire stoked. I could make a little matchbook bed for him and he could sit on a thimble while eating a cheese sandwich off his thread spool table.

My hobbit house features moss, tiny blue flowers, three magic mushrooms and a little window.

Sensible Shoe Zealot

How many shoes are too many shoes?

Click above to read Meredith Blake's article on this topic in today's New York Daily News. I am quoted from the point of view of the "sensible shoe girl".

FYI - even though I have converted to wearing comfortable, sensible shoes I still own about 30 pairs of miscellaneous boots, flats, sandals, sneakers, and heels.

Craft: Pillows in Action

Here are my first 2 pillows. (See below for details). I made them to match our black couch. We just got the couch and we didn't have many choices because it had to be 74" and it needed to fold down into a bed. I looked to see how hard it would be to reupholster it and it was out of the question. So...I decided to jazz up the place with some pillows. We're going to paint next and I'm going to paint the tv stand a yellow to match the pillows. I'll post pictures when all this happens - could be a while :)

LOST is on and I can't concentrate. I have to catch up on last week's episode before the new one starts at 9! Eeeek!

Just Braffing

Friday night a whole bunch of us went to Art Bar to celebrate our friend Meredith's career change from film to writing. After a few hours we went to Radio Bar and that's when things started to get hazy. After looking at my camera the next morning I saw some photos of me and Andy making tube lips and put together that I must have been showing him my drawings of Zach Braff - this was confirmed when I ran into him and his wife Maria on Sunday. Maria exclaimed that Zach Braff drives her crazy too. I'm going to teach her how to draw him.
A spitting image of Zach Braff.

Me looking more drunk on bad wine than like ZB.
