On the Streets of Philadelphia

My sister just moved to Philadelphia so I went to visit her this weekend.

Went to Philadelphia's Magic Gardens - an awesome house/garden 100% covered in mosaics. Only $4 and totally awesome.

Cool door.

Went out for Bloody Marys at Parc and then went to the park to nap in the sunshine - something we did all over Ireland a few years ago and realized is our favorite sister activity.

We to Helium comedy club for Philly's Phunniest Person Contest and ordered 2 vodka sodas, nachos, and a brownie sundae and crudités for dinner.

Pink Sparkles!

One of my favorite girls turned 5 yesterday and I made her this necklace. She's a big fan of pink sparkles and I can't blame her - I too am a big fan of glitter and sparkles.

I used polymer clay to carve out her name, dipped it in glitter and then baked it in the oven. After it was baked I dunked it in Mod Podge, dipped it in more glitter, and then sealed it with more Mod Podge.

I chose to use a large clasp so it would be easy for 5-year old fingers.

Jilly + Ed + Lion King = 4-eva!

In the most dramatic Final Rose Ceremony in Bachelorette history, Jillian picked Ed!

We love Ed because he's very cute and silly, but mostly because he is the biggest fan of The Lion King on Broadway in Bachelorette history.

In honor of this momentous occaision, all my Bachelorette fans came out of the woodwork and over to Colleen's house to eat banana cream pie and make ice cream sundaes.

It was the most delicious snack in Bachelorette Final Rose Ceremony audience pleasure history.

Sidewalk Sale on Bedford

Today Abe and I finally got our act together and had a sidewalk sale with all the extra crap in our apartment.

We made the bold move of airing out our apartment castaways on Bedford Avenue - on the corner of Metropolitan. That corner is the major crossroads of Williamsburg and we got maximum foot traffic, but it was also like selling our random junk on a fashion catwalk.

This older couple were our biggest customers - thanks, guys!

Abe working the chess set sale - 50 cents = bargain for your brain.

No takers on the trombone, but it was definitely a nice talking piece.

Pianos

Thursday night there were four bands playing at Pianos and I had friends in three of them so it was very fun... and very convenient. Felt like we live in a small town with one music venue.

Sadek, Margot and Mamie-Claire walking to get pre-show falafel.
